Rear Brake Caliper

I need a REAR caliper repair kit and have been told that the rear caliper is Renault.Can anyone tell me which Renault it would be? I’ve got stacks of Renault dealers around but Lotus is 90 miles away (and probably more expensive for the same part).

MinimanTa very much - i can buy two now !!Can you give link to lotus bbs - i spent about two hours searching, this site, SELOC, ecosse and www.lotusbbs.com for this info and couldn’t find it. I didn’t want to ask something which i could find by a ‘quick’ search… doh !!cheers

PhilThanks but they are smarter than us… they have blocked me from using your link to log straight in. I tried to find out how to join this bbs but was unsuccessful, could you give me another pointer to where I might register.cheers

RoxIt was the Lotusbbs.com site I found it - search the archives for rear caliper or renault - you have to be a member to search the archives though …The official lotus one is not really worth looking at now - the best information was from Nick Adams and they “moved him on” or “he moved on” whatever … See you Andrew

Hello FolksExtra info for al budding mechanix…The caliper repair kit 77 01 205 496 from Renault cost �17.24 incl VAT and is actually a Caliper Slide kit - it doesn’t include the flamin piston seal… guess wot I need ?? yep … you gotit… so using the Renault model ‘locater’ of 556A I have ordered another Caliper part number in the hope that it will include the piston seal.I’ll let you all know how it goes.Anyone been here before??ohh… and why is Nick Adams not on the Lotus BBS anymore??
