REALLY REALLY GOOD NEWS Bahar OUT

Could not happen fast enough.

I’m not sorry to see DB go but what’s left behind? Steve’s Rick Shaw joke on the other thread is not only funny - it’s almost true! We need someone with DB’s business drive but a better understanding of the Lotus culture to pick up the baton and make Lotus (cars) great again. Let’s hope they get on with the new Esprit PDQ.

So long as the new bloke has a grasp on reality, we could see things start moving forward. Especially if the new Esprit is anything close to being nearly ready to start thinking about building.

As for the roofless Elite, the roofed Elise and the 60k Elan. They’re probably best left in Bahars redundancy package.

It seems that DB isn’t going quietly…

…but I think I prefer this version of the story from JALOPNIK:

5th Gear: Dany Bahar Finding New Ways To Kill Lotus
Dany Bahar, no one’s favorite former Lotus CEO, was let let go earlier this month over charges of misusing the company’s funds to fly around the world and redo his houses. Now Auto123 is reporting that Bahar has decided to sue Lotus parent company DRB-Hicom over wrongful termination. He might have a case, as the reason given should have been because he was terrible. That would be rightful termination. We hear he’s hoping the Baldwin family will provide funds for his defense.

…and, as usual, SNIFF PETROL has a particular view.

Given the high profile of the sorry mess he hasn’t had much choice than to go for it really. It would be DRB Hicom he’s after though, so maybe not too bad for Lotus publicity??

On second thoughts… :frowning:

Sounds to me as if Bahar was trained by John DeLorean in misappropriation of said funds !!!
