Big, big thanks to Evosal who encouraged a few of us to find this out, at an extremely wet Donington last Friday afternoon (after a dry morning with bright sunshine!).
Using a Quaife sequential 6 speed for the first time, was also an eye opener
My car is a Honda’d S1, & a sequential box for that is just silly money. Evosal (Chris) has a couple of Exige S1s, a road version with around 350bhp using a supercharged Honda engine, & the second is a fully sorted ex Gav Kershaw race car (Gav won the mid engined series with it in 2003, then sold it to Team Jedi who ran it in British GT). Chris recently bought the latter car, which has a Scholar K Series pumping out about 250bhp, & a Quaife 6 speed sequential box, all slotted into a fabulously well balanced chassis/suspension setup, with brakes to match. This car is not road legal, & the wets wouldn’t last 5 minutes on a dry track, but in the peeing rain, they are simply brilliant. Chris is a top bloke, & let myself & the Edwards Boyz have a play in his race car last Friday
Regarding Exige roof racks, you should find some details about them in the archives, along with tyre extenders for the Yoko 39s (as fitted as original equipment when Lotus launched the S1).The relevent threads may no longer exist, as Mr Admin’s server threw a bloody big wobbly in 2003, & quite a lot of stuff was lost.
AFAIK Chris’s car has the same gearbox as is in Sean’s car, but it doesn’t have the “Power Shift” (Chris is a burly Northerner, & doesn’t need namby pamby electronic aids to move a lever, unlike the faggot eater from Brum )
Have you taken your car on track yet (I don’t mean Dunsfold)?
I have a new set of race wets that I am yet to use. If they are anything like the wets you use for karting then yes, they are quite a revelation. Just seems to be unfortunate that whenever I need them they are not with me… How annoying
I’ve only been able to do one day in the cup since I had it at Beford…which was very wet and very fortunate as I offed it, with the days only passenger at about 90mph off the kink in the back straight. Since then i haven’t had chance.

PS Sean is a really top bloke too
I’m amazed you had the energy to pull the bloody lever you old git!!
You ask Steve Edwards about the diference the Paddle shift makes!
Thanks for the kind words at the end, I guess you aint so bad either for an old northern gravey eating pie monster!!
