Guys, I had a new set of rear 888’s fitted at the weekend. Last night I spotted they are SG and not GG compound so they are super soft. I have spoken to the fitter today and he says GG are out of stock so all he can do is a slight discount on my next set which I am quite pissed at.
I an guessing these will wear out pretty quickly and I was going to fit a full set of ad08 but having had to spend alot in the last few months I was putting that off till next year.
So does anyone know the wear rate on these?
Will I need a new set before the year is out?
Trackdays are now out of the question and as I saw a nice boat last night I am getting primed to cut my losses with the thing.
Drive sensibly on the road (eg avoid “Traffic Light Grand Prix”), & you’ll still get good mileage out of them - I’d reckon 5K including 2 or 3 trackdays.
No reason not to do your trackday on 15th August, as there’s no way you’ll wear out a set of tyres in that time! (Is this day still a go-er, as very few have even booked provisionally?)
We still have GG S1 (195/50/15 & 225/45/16) and GG S2(195/50/16 &225/45/17) sizes in stock…

Where did you get the SG compound from? I’ve tried to find it for sprinting in previous years but could never get hold of the S2 sizes.
