“More desirable” in this case means being so for “a collector” who won’t use the thing anyway. Personally, I couldn’t care less about build number, I’m much more interested in the spec/condition, as my car is for driving, not polishing

True, but the last one’s red (ewww), and seems to have been doodled on by some random people who were cheekily passed off as the Motorsport lot ; all of which effectively renders it worthless, thus making this whole “mine�s older than yours” thing pretty damn important .

totally agree and only really applicable to a regular linear production line. the lotus line was more akin to batch production, i think csrs could “overtake” on the production line and even be parked up in areas if a particular part was missing or if there were paint finish issues.
