I had a big accident in 1998 and broke my back badly , spent 7 weeks in a spinal unit flat on my back , had to learn to walk again and was in a body cast for another 6 weeks …
Fortunately my spinal cord didn’t get severed just badly squashed and it recovered …
Those images from the hospital in the film bring back some memories for me …

I was almost in Nathan’s position 16 yrs. ago I had Spinal stenosis which is narrowing of the spinal column that causes pressure on the spinal cord and narrowing of the openings (called neural foramina) where spinal nerves leave the spinal column of the second and third vertebrae. A laminectomy was performed and I dogged a huge freakin bullet…
My surgeon said just a mild case of whiplash would have done me in…
I just wanted to pass this around so that others would do the same. We all take so much for granted and at times we need to just stop and look around and realize how lucky we are.

Bust my back 12 years ago , nothing like as bad as that though , Docs told me I would have 70% movement after but it’s perfect now , even after I compressed and fractured it on a jet ski 3 years later .
