I am selling my 6 speed Quaife due to changing my motorsport class which require me to use a standard gearbox.
It uses hellical gears which means it’s quiet for road use, unlike the UCR straight cut box used in motorsport applications. This box has almost identical ratios for the first five gears but has a 6th that makes the car usable on the road, which gives around 21.5mph per 1000 rpm. So, it gives the well known performance benefits that the straight cut ultra close ratio box but is usable as a road box as it is quiet like the regular PG1s and also has a tall top gear (in between the standard PG1 and the CR PG1 5th gears). Which is exactly why I bought it in the first place.
The box was serviced (all bearings etc) in the winter 08 which was less than 3000 miles ago.
This box will liven up and transform any spec of car it is fitted to giving an immediate performance benefit as the amount of torque at the wheels in each gear is increased.
It’s a great addition to any car around the 200bhp mark, getting guarantied huge level of performance increase from a bolt on modification.
If you’re interested in the box then I can email a cascade spreadshseet which allows you to enter your power curve and gear ratios and produces a graph to show the torque at the wheels in each gear - more torque and a better spread gives better acceleration in that gear.
The ratios are:
1st - 3.125
2nd - 2.143
3rd - 1.64
4th - 1.276
5th - 1.03
6th - 0.861
with final drive of 3.955
As new this box cannot be purchased assembled anymore from Quaife direct and requires that you buy a kit of parts from Quaife at 4145 GBP inc vat and when vat goes back to 17.5% in Januaray it will rise to 4235 GBP
Once you have the kit you still need a donar PG1 box and labour to fit the kit so you’re likely looking at 4.5k inc vat.
The options are:
�2,000 - Gearbox with standard ATB / LSD fitted.
�2,500 Gearbox with Quaife ATB/LSD fitted.
�2,750 Gearbox with Quaife ATB/LSD fitted plus laminova water to oil cooler and electric pump including fittings, hose etc.
