Profanity warning!

I will be attempting to put new discs and pads on the car tomorrow.

Be prepared for profanity and clueless cries for help on here (with pics)

1st hurdle. … getting locking wheel nuts off !

I have John’s number when you’re ready for him to come round and take over

I bloody hate locking wheel nuts!!

Are they really needed any more, I mean when was the last time anyone saw a car up on bricks???

One in your garage isn’t there mate ?

Check mate!!!

Bugger!

They have arrived

Best get to it!

ah it’s easy enough, just make sure you have zip ties to ensure you dont tweek the brake lines

REALLY!!!

Took all of 10 mins before first FK… disc retention screw is made of chocolate and fking seized tight!!!

Suggestions?

Torx drive and hammer deployed!

If that doesn’t work, sharp centre punch on edge to create a recess then knock it round from there. Once released it will be easy to take out by hand.

Drill a hole and use an extractor or just drill the head off and remove the disc then you’ll be able to get mole grips on it.

Drilled the head of 3 of 4 so left them out on replacing.

All done. Learnt a LOT, as usual first corner on one side took 45 mins then just 10 mins for the opposite side!!!

But apparently the socket wrench to tighten brake caliper nuts back up was not…

I had a call from Damon yesterday, he was wondering what the rotational knocking noise might be…

Rear left caliper bolt was loose!!! I’d driven to a funeral in Newbury rather rapidly yesterday!!! :open_mouth:

I DID NOT TOUCH IT!!! despite the ribbing I got from DaveP and my friends at APS as I had it on the ramps before driving home from Oxford today!!!

Lol… Thread lock!
