Pro Alloy Intercooler

Has anybody on here fitted one of these on their Exige S with the cold air feed kit, and did it make any difference.
Cheers.

It’s on my wish list, so would be interested to know also.

Thats three of us interested then, I wonder if Seriously Dave could put us a good deal together.

Search the threads, but it would seem that air feed is the most important thing.
I use the RLS air scoops in the side pods going to a 2.5" pipe either side(roof scoop still attached too). Sean seemed to show that the 211 air box with a 4" pipe either side gave the best results , but he’s a Northern monkey and doesn’t understand science so I still contend a 2.5k Marston I/C is worth every penny ( takes deep breath).
I think the Pro Alloy one will work well given air.The cheap way of doing that is scoops and pipes from the likes of Merlin Motorsport and fibreglass grafting on an opening either side of the OEM I/C backbox.
Best solution ,IMO, would be carbon fibre roof without a scoop, and either charge cooler set up or Sean’s 211 backbox and 4" pipes.

Airflow makes a huge difference on intake temps and recovery time, and needn’t cost the earth.

A northern monkey?? in Birmingham???

Bloody hell you don’t get out much :astonished:

Forgive me, but isn’t that north of Watford?

Yes it is and therefore it is certainly north

Oi oi … Dudlaay most definately ain’t Birmingham !

So would you fix pipes from the drivers side air scoop to the rear inter cooler intake?

Take pipes from both sides and either fix them either to the 211 shroud (not using the scoop) or make /buy a shroud like this:

While on the RLS site look at the scoops and fixings to get some ideas.

Thanks mate.

I’m sure JFK has an excellent DIY thread on here somewhere

You are utterly correct JF .

So has no one fitted a Pro Alloy intercooler with the cold air kit then.

The best mod you could make Pete is to get the 260 kit. It makes a big difference even over the 240

Yep saw that.
I think we are all in agreement that the cold air fed from the side pods is the way to go, but if like me you aren’t capable of making a decent DIY job of it, then the pro alloy set up is the most appealing bolt on version, especially if you want to upgrade your intercooler at the same time. But at nearly 900 it makes me think twice!

Got the 260 kit Tim, just need to be able to drive faster haha.

Yes Bomber thats what I thought 900 for the full kit seems expensive its cheaper to get Hangar 111 GT chargecooler kit. where is Seriously Dave at thought he might have been reading this thread.

Porkie has the latest ProAlloy setup on his car.

Its all about airflow, In my opinion and the tests I have done, it is the single most important thing to concentrate on. The Airflow is so bad that the intercooler makes little or no difference. But then what do I know, after all, I am the ONLY person that has actually done any testing.

If you seriously want to combat intake air temps, then the only option is a charge cooler.

If anyone is interested I actually have my 211 shroud for sale, cant remember how much they are now, but know they were on back order at Lotus.
