Due to a moment’s inattention, (I was actually thinking about driving as opposed to looking for cameras), I’ve been clocked by a camera doing 40 in a 30 limit.
I’m not going to try to worm my way out of it. I’m generally very strict with lower speed limits so I’m annoyed with myself. This particular 30 limit road is a dual carriageway with excellent visibility and the road was pretty clear of traffic and pedestrians. It was safe, but that’s no excuse.
Its not all that bad TBH. Mrs C clocked up 3 pts in Jan which has added 30 to both our daily drivers insurance but I still managed to get the Exige down from 635 to 486 last week!
I’ve got sat nav with a camera database but stupidly I wasn’t using it because I knew where I was going. What’s even more stupid is I know that road, and I know there’s a bloody camera there
I still managed to get the Exige down from 635 to 486 last week!
Obviously due to limited mileage/use
Yeah 5K miles and commuting but no business or track days but it suits my needs. If I ever finish my other project vehicle and get some time to do track days then I’ll change it.
Well if you fancy having a go at getting off the charge there is a simple procedure to follow and it does work. Its your call obviously and I am not saying you should do it, but if you would like more info you can PM me … the details are freely available on the net. I suppose it depends on whether you think you should be prosecuted or not :O)
I’m against scameras on principle, but the law is there for a reason. It’s a pretty obvious, bright orange box that I already knew about so I guess I deserve what I get. Maybe I’ve learned something about concentrating more when driving
Yep 3 years ago I was caught by a hidden van doing 37mph in a 30mph zone in an elise and it was 60 and 3 points. Its all too easy to do in a light accelerative car - it doesn’t take much more pedal to do 37 than 30 unfortunately. Even for the most sensible drivers it can just boil down to luck (bad of course)
