So my car used to be 212@hubs in N/A form and is now 329@hubs with the blower on it and tips the scales at just around 830KG wet.
The N/A side was fun, and it would be nice to have a blast in a dry sumped ITBs screamer, however the blower makes such linear power. It’s scary quick, however you really need it to be linear to use the power.
The dyno should look something like this. Not really linear.
I would opt for a SC but there is no room on the Duratec install in a Elise/Exige. Komotec did it but placed the SC on the drivers side beam, so not directly on the engine.
What gearbox are you running?
I’m currently at 262@hubs. The 'box has a full Kaaz set plus oil cooler… I would love a bit more power but concerned I’d blow the gearbox.
Currently its a hoot but more power is always good - right?
IMHO 260 is plenty enough for the road & some track use. I certainly enjoyed the increase over the 240 start point in my case. Having moved on to 345 in the Evora this too is plenty for the road and similar in the subjective real word to 260 in an S2 Exige.
Any more will lead to much restraint or a visit from the rozzers
I bought a 2.5 Duratec that gets some aftermarket cams that will put out somewhere near 220 to 230hp and 235nm at the wheels. +/- 180nm starting at 2000rpm. Redline at 7k. ( Have an over the subframe non-cat exhaust 4-2-1 2.5" , Jenvey ITB’s , Emerald, etc.)
Also bought a plated LSD from Elite transmissions. Will put that in a CR box.
