Power and weight and Talk if you dare.....

No excuses then Ade!!!

Why are all your cars so light??? My S2 was 955 kg!!! Same colour as yours too!!!

I always understood that PtW is all out of ideas by 100mph or thereabouts??

Beyond that it’s all about aero and grunt, especially aero. A good example was the truck racing where 1000bhp+ monsters had virtually the same top speed as those with circa half the power. Or was that some kind of regulation???

My cars biggest problem is the driver and I feel this is a well known fact

To get that weight there is a substantial investment in carbon and a reduction in elements of comfort…
I no longer have
Rear speakers
rear bulkhead trims
carpets
floor mats
boot carpet
inertia seat belts (just harnesses)

I now own in carbon
Front splitter
Rear wing
Roof
Boot lid
Door panels
access panels
side scoops
seats

I have also added stuff as well from the standard car
Charge cooler
Gearbox oil cooler system
8 pint accusump

My S1 Audi car was less than 800kg’s 782kg’s with all fluids except fuel springs to mind. That had about 430bhp

My S2 is standard, and I cant remember ever weighing it. Compared to my S1 it feels like a massive, lardy boat.

My S1 in its latest guise will be about 850kg’s I reckon, as everything is bigger (brakes, wheels, turbo, body, exhaust, to name but a few)

Finally had a chance to weigh the S2 today whilst at Oulton. With 10 lts of fuel it was 842kg. More than I thought but that’s with all the rally mods e.g. full T45 cage, 2 fire bottles… Warning triangle (oh yes, mandatory!).

That compares to my S2 Kermit which was 890 kg, but I’ve now got 240 sweet n/a bhp rather than 190.

Non of that mattered today though, I’ve been sick as a dog all week  so I gave my trackday place and car to brother in law Tony for the day. He throughly enjoyed his arrive and hoon package around a damp Oulton. He tells me the new paddle clutch and gearbox were excellent - apparently, thanks mate.
