well i have just got back from my 4 month deployment, went to get in my lotus to find the battery dead which i thought would be, but i cant get into the thing,i cant even open the door with the key, it just turns 90 degress, thats on both doors, can some1 help me as really dont want to smash the window
passenger side front acces panel. Unscrew allen bolts to get to the front 12v power posts. use another battery onto those to give you power to open the car. You can then open the door then the boot then re-charge/replace the battery.
You can also get into the boot by pulling on the cable through the driver side rear wheel arch liner.
just tried the cable that did not work had to take the scoop off pulled on a black cable that looks like you get off a push bike,
Front panel is the next best option then
what size battery has it got to be still 12v or can it be 9
Or maybe coat hanger though the top of the window and pull the boot release
12volt
mm will try, bloody dark but so want to drive it lol
all i can say never use a coat hanger lol got in the car via the 12v connection, just got the jump pack on charge now, to get her started tomorrow,
Yeah it was just an idea, I’m no car thief so will bare that in mind for the future
When my cebtral locking relay failed I used the coat hanger trick to get in
ade how the hell did u do it lol i was there for ages with no luck, its easy just taking the front panel off, had to get a new battery, was so so so nice driving it again after 3 months away.
I have a patented coat hanger bent in a specific way I will add it is very fiddly…
Ade is from Essex remember, its in his blood!!!
Ade is from Essex remember, its in his blood!!!
So true
all i can say is im never doing the coat hanger trick again, it even mentions in the manual about the aux battery connections under the from panel in such of an event lol
you will have to if your central locking relay fails
I used that cardboard box banding when my relay failed, that was pretty simple and didn’t leave any nasty scratches.
No scratches using a coat hanger, but I might has had practice before
i used a white coated coat hanger so every time i tryied using it the white paint would come off inside and outside the car as it was scraping on the window.
