Plans or horizon?

When the warranty is up on the exige i am planning on getting new shocks, arb, and a few other bits and bobs done at the same time as the first out of warranty service.Question is i live in cheltenham so horizon is more convenient for a drop off pick up point of view where as plans are a fair old trek really! Are plans that much better, seeing as they have the benefit of being able to shake down the car on track?
Any advice kindly received.

Marc.

What you using the car for?

What you using the car for?

mainly road use with a couple of track days a year.

Then there’s probably little in it. I’d guess Horizon would be slightly cheaper but I’d personally want to give my car a before and after blast on the Plans track.

Plans have probably done exactly what you’re doing a little more often though.

Thanks ian, thats what i was thinking too but unless i can drop off and pick up on a saturday it will mean 2 days off work which when you factor in lost wage(s/e) makes it expensive.

I have no experiance of Horizon, but I can’t speak highly enough of Plans. Great guys, very knowledgable, very respectful of some body elses pride and joy and like Ian says they have been there and done it a million times.

Just got my suspension done at Plans and they did a really great job and even washed the car before I got it back. They have done this many times a really know their stuff.

They test the car on the track before they give it back so you can be sure all the geometry and corner weights have been set up well.

But if it’s mainly for road use, would the difference really be noticed (Graham, I know you clearly have an interest here but if you can be convincing enough as to why you’d be able to help with that I think the answer would be interesting).

Ian

I have had good experience with Plans. Graham and John have been really helpful. Service carried out efficiently and thoroughly. They do know a thing or two about setting up cars (loti) and have loads of experience of most/all of the options you are looking at.

This is not to say anything negative about horizon - I just haven’t used them.

I’m all the way over here in the States and Graham at Plans has helped me out.

Rest assured, if I were in the UK, that would happen!

Well i’ve sent an email to both! Will see how they compare

On a side note, what would i expect to get for the old suspension? What else is it good for.I know the standard S2 set up is used on s1’s any similar use for S2 exige shocks?

I got 112 for mine on ebay last weekend. 15 watching but only 3 bids. Started at 99 so not a great demand for it just now. Its a minor upgrade for 111R but those that want to upgrade seem to be spending more for an adjustable setup.

Best way to sell them is post it on all the forums and wait. Fleebay is a wast of time
Sold mine for 370 to a 111R owner…
(you need a 111R owner upgrading to 48s)

Spoke to graham at plans very impressed thus far–horizon not even an email back…

Less their thing technology. Doesn’t make them bad a setting a car up though, just a bit more old school.
