This has been popular with Exige owners, many of which post on here.
We had a couple of guys in yesterday and were talking about a “Stig Challenge”
So here it is…
Come down to plans, have an half and hour briefing, introduction to the track, one hours tuition and six timed laps of the Stig Circuit. This is the same format as the “star in the reasonable priced car”.
We post your user name (or other pseudonym if you’re bashful), the spec of your car, and your best time from the six laps.
The whole session is usually 199 but we will discount for exiges.com to 179 inc VAT.
Should make interesting reading about which cars are faster than others…
Stig times are
Exige S 1.25.1
Exige S2 1.26.4 (w)
Elsie S2 1.35.6
Our first runner under these arrangements (I won’t name them until they own up) ran yesterday.
In the small print we should say of course that this is nothing to do with the BBC or Top Gear.
Open to non-Lotus? Well yes, but I’m not posting anywhere else at the momement as didn’t want demand to exceed supply.
We can ususally do any Monday, Tuesday and Friday, which means a maximum of six per week if we keep the one-on-one, only-car-on-the-circuit format which most people like (and also, keeps it exactly the same as the “Star” and the “Stig” laps… ie only car on the circuit and, after the tuition, the best of six counts)
I am the owner of said 135R and had a great time playing Stig! No laughing at my time please, I have a whole book of excuses at the ready!
I think this is a great idea with a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing everyones times an how they compare, looks like there’s some very quick cars on here
If I remember rightly, Graham reckons 30kg equates to an extra second a lap round that track so with graham on board that must have cost you oh… at least 4 seconds!
