Planned Mods for 2011

At the risk of starting another mods/driver training thread bunfight I though I’d post up my planned mods and field any other suggestions from the Exiges.Com massive

  1. Engine mounts - Powerflex
  2. Exhaust - 2bular
  3. Intercooler - Forge or other
  4. Rear difuser - Reverie

Any other secret mod suggestions out there ???

I’m having the H111 Komotec kit fitted - and a few other bits.

Chris

I’m not sure about the shift light(s) on a 260 cup, as I’ve never studied one, but I (& others on here) can highly recommend the “Shift I” http://www.ecliptech.com.au/ Great piece of kit which can be positioned so it is a very effective aid on track.

The canbus on the later Exiges makes fitting the Shift-i lights slightly tricky - it is possible though.

I plan on doing 1
Have 2&3
What is 4?

Personally I’m thinking a bbk

Komotec kit sounds good btw but can’t you just use an MSD pick up? I fitted my Shifti last year if you search “Shifti” you’ll find it. Very simple to do just clips around one of the injector wires, no splicing whatsoever…well not in that particular location anyway.

4 is Lotus Elise/Exige S2/111R/240R (04 - 08) Carbon Rear Diffuser - 3 Element, 3 Fixing Holes, Stage 2 Exhaust - Lotus Elise/Exige S2 111R & 240R Carbon Fibre Rear Diffuser, for Stage 2 Exhaust, 3 Fixing Holes | Reverie Ltd

They’re good mods altho I’d personally go with both the brand new MMG intercooler and their motorsport diffuser and spend the 600 quid savings on track days.

Wasn’t sure the MMG I/C was commercially available ?

If so do you have any links etc ? Do they also do a diffuser ?
Again links/info would be great

Thanks

Both are available and waiting to go up on their revised website once full testing has been finished. In the meantime call Liam (no. on website) and he can gve you the prices and specs.

Thanks for the info - I did see that you had gone with the MMG I/C over the forge - what were the pro’s & con’s that made you go down the MMG route ?

Also did your MMG diffuser fit straight onto your 2010 MY car with no major mod’s etc ??

Sorry for the questions but all this info helps me form a decision

TA

I looked around and based on price quality and engineering I made my choices. To be honest price wasn’t top of my list as I’d already spent a small firtune buying the car, I just wanted what I perceived was the best available and the MMG stuff hit the spot. Their ic is a brand new design and I know they had looked at a lot of the Market ic’s already before choosing their own design core. As for the diffuser I wanted a proper one and not just a cosmetic bit of bling, I believe their own design is based on an exige race car diffuser. Plus I think reveries prices are totally unreasonable!

I am getting:

260 pump, map, shear panel, engine mounts,

Possibly forge I/C

Nitrons when my billies give up the ghost.

Hows the 2bular system working out on the stock 240 map? Did you notice much difference? Have you had it on a dyno to see how its running on WOT?

Cheers

With the MMC chargecooler you could probably run more boost safely so add a smaller pulley & remap to your list of mods

Sent you a PM stevey

Don’t give away my secrets!

Have you got any pics of the diffuser?

It s Fine thanks, done 20,000 miles on the setuP now. If it were going to detonate and blow up it would have done by now and I don’t drive gently as evidenced by a 28 day driving ban last year!

MSD pickup works fine, just fiddly routing the wire!
