just ordered and fitted this to the exige s. and omg what a difference not only in noise but in performance you can properly hear the SC whining now. quite easyish to install however wish i was a little smaller to fit into the engine bay to work lol. is alot more responsive and the noise sings, if your thinking about one do get one brilliant product
Did you not jack up the car and remove the N/S/R wheel and arch liner?
I’ve got one of these, mines not s/c however. Just a full 2bular + decat. It sounds fab, especially on the cam cross over. Always makes my passenger laugh when it does hit 6k… BLAAAAAARRRR!!!
I must admit I was very lazy and managed to get it out to clean & service the filter by leaning in the engine bay. It was a little awkward but only took a few minutes & the usual grazed knuckles!
I thought fitting it was pretty straightforward - agreed that it sounds great, though mine hisses like hell when cold - do yours do this? (Im NA too btw)

nah doesnt hiss, just hear a breathing in every at a slight touch. i wish i had a NA just for that job would have been easier as dont have the intercoller in the way lol. i didnt take out the wheel arch i removed the engine coolant and took it out piece by piece lol. i know what you say after 6k it turns into an animal especailly with SC too
Hi Jonny, yeah I must admit mine does definately hiss, I’ve actually never thought about whether it does it worse when cold. Now you mention it I think it does!
Is it the same kit for the S as the N/A ? im just about to order one to replace my TRD box .

Thanks , I’m just a bit bothered about how quick the filter gets dirty , it looks like the filter is sat in the scoop area .
How is this induction kit better than the TRD or K&N Apollo?
I was under the impression that the latter 2 kits were tried and tested by Lotus and aftermarket tuners to be the best.
Why would you replace the TRD airbox with the Pipercross VIS. The TRD (Cup) airbox appears to be universally accepted as the best solution, unless you are going for something truely custom, and that wouldn’t seem to be the case if going Pipercross.
Agree, I cant see how any induction kit could get any more airflow than a TRD its massive surface area with no restrictive opening, I suppose the ram air set-ups maybe? but �500 could be much spent elsewhere IMO
there �295 , idk whos done the testing and what filters ? im sure on a supercharged car the gains are small TRD or VIS , its the noise im after , i have lost a lot of supercharger whine with fitting a 2bular manifold + de cat and back box .
The only real way to get a lot more whine is to overdrive the SC with a smaller pulley, but that is an expensive way to get more noise…
My car came with what I now know is a K&N Typhoon filter from an Avensis, there is a lot of SC whine with this and as yet I have had no problem with noise levels…
To be fair, I bought mine second hand for 50 quid, so can’t really comment on the price. I think it does the job well though and sounds excellent.
As far as getting dirty is concerned, my daily commute is down some filthy roads and it seems to have held up fine over the last couple of years.
