Permabond

Anyone know any equivalants … Loctite types ? or why there are three types - 130, 131 and 134 and non are on the Permabond web site !!CheersThis is to do with screwing the suspension back together …

Hi MinimanThe products are on their website at www.permabond.com - at their homepage click on the “download product technical and safety info” link and then put A134 in the search box - it will bring up all the pdf data sheets for A134.Maybe you left off the A - as their products are prefixed by a single letter, always A in the case of the stuff on Exiges. The reason for different grades is that they have different properties in terms of the torque that it takes to “break” the seal and also the coarseness of thread that they are designed for. A134 is especially for very high torque, coarse thread applications. There is probably a Loctite equivalent, but it will not be an off the shelf product - DO NOT use Loctite thread lock or similar - it is not coarse enough to bridge the thread gaps in the rear toe link bolts and will come undone - in fact Lotus issued a recall on exactly this on early Elises as the stuff they used at first was not good enough and a few toe links came loose. (not a problem for Exiges - this was back in 97)The best thing to do is to find a local adhesives or specialist machine shop supplier (like a Buck and Hickman) - most of them can get Permabond - A134 is very common for heavy duty installations so not that difficult to get.A small bottle is about 25 but will last you forever with the amount we need on the LotusHope this helps!!
