They are great fun, had a go on one about 10 years ago while in Minesotta on winter testing. Tried to ride it like a bike and almost fell off when I got it up on one ski at the front.
There were hundreds of miles of snow-mobile routes around the county and people used them to commute, just because they could more than because they had too.
