Pads & Pressures??

I’ve got about 4mm left on my rs42 pads, do you reckon I could last a Donny Trackday? They look too meaty to scrap to my eyes.

Also, what tyre pressures are people using for Yokohama AO48s?

As ever, all thoughts appreciated.

They are a bit thin tbh, I’d normally be taking them out by then

They ‘may’ just last you out the morning and the last thing you want is to be going home with no brake pads on the car.

Buy some new ones and take then with you, it doesn’t take 20 minutes to swap them out.

25-26 hot i run

I’d fit the new ones and bed them in before Donny and then swap back to the old ones for road use after the day. As Gav says it’s not a big job to swap and a good thing to check before a trackday - I changed a set of wheels for a friend recently and found an R clip missing off one of the pins.

I tried to make a mostly worn set last a trackday and found they failed prematurely on the day - put it down to higher brake temps reaching the backing plate as a comination of reducted friction material.

The old hairpin in not the place to find it’s time to swap them

Nor Redgate, particularly after the “recent” lengthening of the pit straight.

Listen to Yoda, talk sense he does

Cheers guys, that’s very useful.
