Oulton Park 30th Oct (LOT)

Hi Renton and a big welcome…

Thanks everyone, great day at Oulton. Good track, good weather and excellent company…

Great day out even though I didint manage to get much tracktime.

Managed to get IDG about 5 mins from johns before his car totally expired :frowning:

Then mine was making some rather horrid noises 40 miles form home and I had to nurse it the rest of the way.

Nice curry too, although sean cleared them out of nann breads…

Thanks for letting me drive you car sean very impressed… hhhmm Turbo im sure I can make it fit…

Seconded, & also thanks Damon, for sorting out the curry - excellent choice, mate!

Echo all of the above, thanks everyone, top day!

Cheers guys. I was just taking pics. Came up with Sean. Had a passenger ride with him. Very fast car, just a shame the driver wasn’t quite up to the car’s standards

Here are the first little batch of pics.
If anyone would like the high resolution versions or would like to see if I have any of their cars, feel free to ask. I took a good few hundred shots, so I should have most covered.

Will post a few more once I’ve looked at them all!

Awesome, Awesome day !

Thanks to everyone for making it special. Was great to be back on track as I’ve not had much chance this year… really enjoyed it.

Curry was fantastic, was quite funny seeing non-Lotus’ everywhere outside after we’d taken up most of the carpark !

MarcP’s car is super impressive… wasn’t expecting so much grunt for a VVC!

Gav’s sequential is yummy.

Mike Wilds is a true gent.

It was a great day, thanks again to all, I hope Sean will be along to give me more tuition he changed my driving and showed me I was making some very basic errors :frowning:
Jacqui really loved her first trackday and complimented all of you on being very nice and pleasent, I have checked and she was with me and meeting the same people
She wants to come along again and if I can get some padding for the seat she might manage more than ten mintues in the car before feeling sick.

Bring on the next trackday

Wow, thats the best looking exige I have ever seen, do you have the high res version and possibly any more piccys please

Is it going ‘Flat!’ though  ?

I am cream crackered today  Got in some point after 1am after dropping IDG home. Quo and I acted as wing men to Ian who had fried his alternator again. With side lights on only we amazingly made it into Brum on the M6 (note that for reasons unknown sidelights on Ian’s car means tail lights only!!). Luckily that meant only a 10min wait for the JSRacing rescue trailer to arrive. With the car loaded up and Ian with a mountain of both our stuff on Ian’s lap we set off for London…via Basingstoke.

So about 9-10hours in the car yesterday and none of it on the circuit…to go for a curry with the lads. Still great to see everyone though.

Was great to see you Ben, glad you made it up even if it was a long way for a curry !!

Never got to ask if you’d finally sorted your brakes ?

Yeah cheers Dave great to see you and the lads. Brakes are sorted, in fact the car is in truly rude health and I was dying to give it some beans around Oulton. Never mind there will be plenty more opportunities.

Tremendous day.Really enjoyed my time on track and all the chat. Curry too, exceeded expectations(Thanks Damon and sorry for being in your way at least once on track). Great to put more faces to exiges names.
Bring on the next one!

Benja

You’re a superstar :sunglasses: Who else would do what you did yesterday, just for a social jolly? You really do have “exigeness” in your DNA - bloody brilliant

Agreed - Top effort matey. Couldn’t quite believe my eyes when I saw you roll into the circuit late afternoon - and still smiling as I trundled past taking someone out for a pax.

Bonkers… but none the less “bloody billiant.”

Hi folks

Finally made it home at 5:15pm today, having covered a mere 1100 miles since setting out on Thursday. Though I expect Andy D will be able to beat that by the time he’s finished. First time Ive done Oulton and totally loved it so well worth making the trip.
Special thanks to Damon for organising the curry, Wullie for signing Stu on as a second driver and Pesky for looking after us yesterday.
As always top day and enjoyed meeting and chatting to everyone just as much as the driving.

Cheers to everyone

P.S Remember Clive Ive got first dibs

Great day everyone, perfect weather and now Oulton has moved up my favourite track list !

Ben, you are quite mad … but was great to see you made it, I think the curry was worth the trip

Thanks to Steve for the support in clearing up my gearbox oil …

I got to Angelsey but my fue pump packed up on the sighting lap :frowning: so had a typical IDG trip back home - IE in a flatbed tow truck !!

Looking forward to April !!

Holy shittt Andy, that’s a real downer :frowning:

Hope both you & Ian get your cars sorted soon, & you have better luck in 2010.

Fingers crossed that 2010 is a happier/more successful year for many of us exigers. Don’t know how I, for one, would have coped without the company/banter/pi$$taking/friendship of you guys & gals in 2009 - much appreciated. Can’t believe I’ve put that on t’internet…but I mean it!

When I got in the car on the drive I honestly thought I’d make it for a couple of hours in the afternoon if I could persuade Pete to sign me in. It was not until I came off the M6 Toll and hit the M6 car park that I realised I was only in it for the curry. I figured since I was over half way that it was less demoralising to have 400+mile round trip for a curry than a 250+mile round trip for absolutely zip.

I was naturally not aware on the way out that we’d trickle back to Brum at 50-60mph with ‘Limp-Home Goodall’ and then have a small detour via Basingstoke. It’s all part of the fun though and the only time I had any regrets was when the kids decided that 6am was when today should start.
