Would I be wecome? Would love to drive KH… It’s just a bloody long way away
Of course! we want to see all southerners up here (for all the times me and Rox have been down there)
We’ll treat you to some of the best roads in Scotland as well
First time we went down there was to… Anglesey! and it wasn’t that difficult to convince us, eh Pesky?
KH is a 900mile roundtrip for me . Since I don’t have a trailer I may have lost the will to live by the time I arrived. There must be somewhere in between for an Exige trackday.
Alternatively maybe we could hire a car transporter to take all the SE Exiges to KH and us delicate southerners could get the train
Well I passed this pass the wife again and she wasn’t overly negative!?!!
Bearing in mind the new baby will only be in it’s second month I was a little surprised! I’ll need to book it nearer the time and hope that the new suspension (planned for Aug) will allow me to drive it that far (although I like Ben’s idea of the transporter) but I could be up for it.
And Benja, it’s not so bad.
The first trackday down south that this board convinced us to do was Amglesey, which was about 800 miles for us… each way!
And it wasn’t that bad. The Exiges seats are about the best I have tried.
And I have a bad back (two burst disks) so I suffer a lot with other seats
Bear in mind that also did a 3500 mile round trip to Italy, no probs there either.
Rox and me have travelled together most of the time down south, and it’s quite easy when you don’t do it alone.
A swarm of Exigers would have fun on the way up, we can recommend some superb routes to get you away from the Motorway.
Yes Ian I would be up for it for sure. I would not mind the drive if there was few of us and we could break up the journey somewhere.
I might drop a couple of emails to transport companies to see how much a transporter would cost. A mate of mine would fly us up there as well if the cars were making their own way . He has access to a Cirrus which is like the Bentley Conti of light aircraft - suprisingly cheap if we could get three of us to go (hmmm a cunning plan is forming in my head,…fast cars, planes, maybe a couple of beers )
I have done 3500miles to Italy the last couple of years, but not in the Exige,…in the MCoupe I used to have. Don’t think I could do it in the Exige,…my other half does not understand about travelling light . I do agree about the seats tho’, I find them remarkably comfortable.
