Oooh go on then one last blast for 2009

I’m going to Bedford with Easytrack on the Mon 7th with some lads from work.

Yes I think it’s the mahoosive dull circuit, yes it will be cold and probably piss down, yes I’ll have to short shift to keep the black flags at bay but it’s better than being in the office on a Monday, it’s relatively local to me and it’s only 119.

Be great to see anyone else there if you fancy taking a day off and pretending to go Xmas shopping

Cars in bit :frowning:

Have a good one mate

Great idea, cars fixed, all I need now is for JSR to fix remote control so I can drive from Oz (i.e. DARN)!

Have fun!

Ian

ps. Andy, I’m in town! Well, south a bit.

Where are you Ian?

PM me if you need some ideas if you are in Melbourne… my ‘other’ home.

Cheers digger! :sunglasses:

Pete.

Ian

Im getting back in Thursday 3rd … but going up to the Hunter to see Fleetwood Mac Friday

How long you around for ??

Had a good day at Bedford today. No issues with noise but it was proper wet. After a downpour first thing it pretty much rained all day and did not dry out in the slightest with load of standing water. Not as bad as on the way home when it was biblical rain on the M1… :frowning:

Real mix of machines there today. There was one other Exige there, a great looking white Cup 240 with red stripes. It’s owner Tom and I did a good job of upholding Exige honour amongst lots of 4 wheel drive porches/scoobys etc on proper tyres. Conditions like that really focus the mind in an Exige on 48’s with >300bhp but if you’re smooth and progressive you can make surprisingly rapid (and oft sideways  ) progress :sunglasses: I outbraked myself a couple of times but no spins,…although I did run out of lock on several occasions

Tom has an exiges login and I told him to get posting because he’s a top bloke, has a very nice motor and after paxing with him I can vouch he can peddle a bit in the wet too.

Thanks Pete.

In the end I hired a car (best value Euro chassis I could find, new Octavia…diesel…auto…never mind) and put 1000km on it over the middle weekend of my stay.

Headed out North-East and down through the Yarra Valley (winearies for lunch, bottles purchased for later comsumption) and on to Phillip Island. Checked out the track (bit narrow for cars but the hot-lap M3s do lots of tyre smoking) and saw the world famous penguins. On the Sunday I did the Great Ocean Road. For any petrolhead near Melbourne this is a must. First third is great scenary and a classic coastal road, middle third was deserted and a whole heap of fun (sorry tyres) and the last third aint bad either.

I’ll be back for tips for my next trip, when AndyD and I should hook up. Although that may be around F1 time (hmm, do I don’t I).

Cheers, Ian

Glad you enjoyed my home town mate!

There are some amazing traffic free roads about too.

Yep, Opening GP is always a good weekend (12,000 miles) away
