One of those days

Off work (lots of jobs to do round the house. No, not dusting). Forecast said sun.
Car just serviced. New brake pads/ geo . .
Run out. Headed north on back roads from home here in Churchtown to K. Lonsdale. Then to Oxenholme on one of the best roads I have ever come across(must have driven it before but not in Exige). Sun breaking through . . .Oxenholme to Sedbergh, then to Hawes.Slight wrong slot as I was heading to Ingleton but was a detour. Fantastic views, all in full sun.Back to Hawes, then to Ingleton on right road this time., Back via Burton in Lonsdale( more great roads)Retraced my steps via Hornby, Caton, back roads to home. Quick jet wash and tucked away.
A classic. Wish I could do it every day.

Sounds perfect…

I had a 12 hour day in work and then back to screaming kids. Bliss!

Three days off after night shift, big plans, car and bike are both poished and ready to go.
Within two hours of going to bed on first day I get a call from the nursery, “You’re child is ill, Please come and collect”
Next three days spent at home blowing bubbles in the garden and watching his little face light up.
Not what I had planned but the vehicles are still shiny and we’ve had a good time.

Why when I post do I get adverts at the top?
Can I stop them?

Then to Oxenholme on one of the best roads I have ever come across(must have driven it before but not in Exige).

I guess that’s the “Terry Bank” road Thommo? Lovely road, often use it to head into the South Lakes from the A65 on those occasions the M6 does not appeal. Assume after you had “tucked it away” you took the opportunity to do a few miles on the pedals

Hi Steve,
It’s the B6254, going through Old Town, Old Hutton . . .and when I got home, I thought about going out for an hour or so on the bike but decided mowing the lawns was the best option

That’s the one! The hill on your left as you pass Old Town is Terry Bank.

Hi thommo, yes they are great roads i drive on them most Sundays, take the three boys out one after the other with big on faces. You only live about twenty mins away from me.

20 min away . . . by exige or normal transport?

Yep by exige

Probably only 2 mins away from me !

Give us a clue . .

About 2 mins away from the ‘Plough’ ?

The Plough at Eaves?
The Plough at Galgate?

Ahh…my bad I think… I was assuming you meant Churchtown in Southport !

Doh!

Lots of people do!
