Bugger - I would have bought that if it had been available a month earlier - would have saved myself a few quid on fitting the SC etc.
What is the view on the 2.2 conversion…?
Looks like a nice one.
Wow…Bargain !
That is a real bargain - there must be 20k+ of mods on that car, Honda, SC, IC, Tullet Exhaust, Ohlins, TMRs etc.
Oh No !!! Thanks Rob
Wheels are a bit bling
How is that possible ?? I mean … Oh bugger how could I explain this
Just do it, mate - she’ll understand…eventually!
This reminds me of the advert for the sale of a motorbike where the seller puts…
Reason for sale: Because apparently “do what the f*ck you like” doesn’t mean you can buy the bike!!!
It’s still an S1 Exige though with mods, which hardly ever add Value, less so when it reaches classic status
Helluva machine though

Yeah but its always possible to fit a Rover back in if they ever reach serious money …
Fair comment Tim, but…
“Value” only has relevence if you intend selling, & most of us don’t fall into that category.
S1 modded Exiges aren’t “investments”, they’re for driving, & vastly improve upon the product Lotus brought to the market. Fortunately, Lotus got many things right (eg chassis/looks/handling), which make “modding” worthwhile in terms of the enhanced driving enjoyment, both on road & track.
S1s (original or modded) already have a “classic status” (rarity/desireability/supply/demand), which is self evident from the large numbers of enthusiasts who aspire to own one, & from the way sell when they do come onto the market.
I’d never mod a car with a eye on selling, modding is for keeping & driving (as you say). Who would ‘personalise’ (aka Mod) a car to sell?
Dunno about them being ‘classic’ yet though, not in a nostalgic sense anyway. Value is relevent in this context as the owner is selling, & at a premium over a similar condition ‘original’.
Calling the original K series ‘a Rover’ must be a kiss of death though. Mind you the civic/audi alternative some use is derived from a pensioner spec mota
Just don’t get the TMR wheel thing.
Very light compared to everything else on the market…albeit they’re very expensive.

Maybe thats why Simon English is buying up all the old vhpd’s, he’s gonna retire when they come back in fashion

And very very fragile
Yeah Tim, my idea is to ship my existing SCCC Honda S1 to Australia and use it a bit and find a buyer out there.
They are extreme rare in that part of the world and, as with all imports, demand a significant premium providing you can find a buyer. Easy for the head but unfortunately these damn cars get into your heart so not simple when it comes to signing the shipping papers

SCCC - ROFL… I wonder how many more "C"s we can get !
SCCCCC =
Super Charged Charged Cooled Crazy Car ?
Yeah thats a lot of car for the money.
On the Clockwise engie thing, I would suggest that anyone thinking of this, speaks to someone that has had one of these engines and used it before they make their decision.
If you do sell it Andy the only question you need to ask is how long will it be before you regret it and wish you had kept it…immediately, a week, a month, a year…?
What he said!!!
