The fuel in my Exige must be years old now with the car being stored in the garage , I could do with replacing it with new and mixing an additive in with it to stop the fuel splitting, what’s the best way to get the fuel out as I’m told the car will have a siphon guard ?
How much fuel is in there and how old is it, roughly? If there isn’t much then I’d be inclined to put in some super unleaded to dilute out the older stuff rather than try to remove it, then run the engine periodically to use up what’s there.
It’s always a good idea to run the engine to hot during storage anyway - if you aren’t already - as it helps to keep it free of condensation, stops belts taking on a permanent ‘set’ etc.
I would say 3-4 years old and approximately half a tank , I wold say it’s bad fuel now and wouldn’t want to run it through , I have started it from time to time though , don’t suppose there is a drain ?
No drain
Disconnect a fuel line
Bridge the fuel pump relay
