What an interesting subject …I’m interested what oil people are running, - dont know what was in mine to start with but had to add some recently (1000 miles with no fill up ! ) so put in 1/4 litre of Mobil 1. Now got Mobil 1 smell in the cabin and I hate it !! - I always seem to end up with a smell when I use Mobil 1 - WHY ? ( ok so a breather pipe fell off … but thats back on now )So what else is recomended ??Thanks

Pesky - Here in Birmingham you cant escape curry, mines a Chicken Tika Bhuna with a pint of Cobra please - forget BradfordTa

I’m currently using Castrol RS 10/40. Mobil 1 motorsport 15/50 used for everyday use i found it kills fuel consumption being a “thicker” oil.What i will do next time is change to a lesser brand fully synth, probably something from the Millers race oil range http://www.millersoils.co.uk. Even on a spirited run i have seen oil temps at 110 degrees, during track days i would expect to see a much higher temp (120-140)!! That way i would probably change the oil and filter after each track day as its the heat that causes it to break down.

Me??.. I use Mobil 1 mate, aint nuthin like it for me. Had to remortgage the house to buy it tho’.

I used to be a big fan of RS but switched all my cars to Mobil 1 Motorsport when I found RS apparently breaking down under heavy use in a couple of them.As for the curry, we really must organise an Exiges.com NW curry night! Only curry I know is a pretty non-descript takeaway in Amlwch, but there is a cracking chinese in Benllech.

It would be interesting to see what oil the dealers use…methinks it’s probably not Mobil 1 MOTORSPORT. RegardsChicken Tikka Madras/Cobra

My dealer uses Esso Ultron, I’m more inclined to a chicken dupiaza.

…and Haydons in Salisbury use Castrol SLX so I do to. After 3000 miles it gets drained out and used in the better halfs Saab! (which leaks oil)

Funny that most dealers don’t seem to use the oils specified by the manufacturer in the handbook though isn’t it ?

Nick Whale’s used to use normal Mobil 1, but they now have Mobil 1 Motorsport. I wouldn’t use anything else.
