Oil temp sender

Planning to fit an oil temp gauge to my car and was thinking of using a VDO dipstick sender like this:

Looks like a nice simple way of fitting the sender which should give a reliable reading. Anyone got any experience of this sender and is it any good? Some of the threads over on the US elisetalk forum seem to suggest that fitting a sender elsewhere to the Yota engine can be a real pain.

is it the right length for the Yota ?

You do seem a bit preoccupied with oil at the mo
Could always get the sc (includes a baffled oil pan) bound to come with a port
for temp gauge

Yeah, think so - 500mm according to the VDO catalogue which is about right and I believe the length is adjustable to an extent. Think I will give it a try.

Oh no - you have just set off that niggling wee voice in my head again ‘supercharger…you need a supercharger…’

Its on the dyno this weekend
