I am currently rebuilding my K series for track use and was wondering if I should be replacing the oil pump with an uprated one. I see QED do replacement steel rotor, is it neccesary ? Thanks

Advisable Tony. Gav Kershaw put one in mine when he refreshed my VHPD. You may as well do it, whilst it’s an easy job

Mmm… the QED rotor isnt a very good fit and will normally require some fettling on the lobes or it will not turn.

Make sure you have a pump with an 11.5mm rotor, these have increased capacity over the earlier 10.5mm rotor pump, also it is worth flowing the backplate of the pump which will further improves it’s efficiency, there are pictures on my K series page of waht to do.
