I pulled the cap off the top of the engine today and had a look inside.
I was quite surprised to see some oil 
After reading some of the other threads I am now quite worried that I have not had enough driver training.
Is this serious?

One question though - did you have any training to remove and refit the oil cap ? 
Why can’t you just leave your car well alone … the way it left the factory was utter perfection , you will mess it up you naughty boy !!!
I was board and I saw the cap sitting there all plasticy so I thought I wonder if I could make it better if I got one in carbon…
Then I spotter the oil!
Oil in engine you say? right at the top? you sure you have the car the right way up? otherwise you should not fill them to the top, you need mechanical training before driver training

It was not full just bits of oil, is that more serious? I heard that mayo in there is quite bad so I thought I would try salad cream?
