Can anyone supply a adaptor to connect a -10 on the oulet/inlet (bottom conection) of the oil filter housing. I have been supplied one by Earls but it bottoms out and the washer is moving and I’m sure it won’t seal.
Thanks for any help.

All the ones I have tried have done the same. We normally machine off a thread at a time, until the washer touches the housing. Not had one leak yet.
Thanks for that, do you manage to get a socket on it or do you manage to get a spanner on it? It doesn’t seem to be the easiest thing to do up and undo.
No, they’re a complete pain in the bum!!
Have just about managed to get a socket on them in the past, think they are 27mm from memory, as I have a really thin walled one just for them.
And whilst you are at it, don’t get too heavy handed unscrewing and re-fitting the oil filter. The housing has a design weak spot that can lead to a hairline crack that then allows an annoying drip of oil! On my first Exige S1, I eventually had to eventually remove the entire assembly and had the crack welded which strengthened it and stopped the leak!
Wonder if anyone else has had this problem?
Cheers,
Pete.
ditto with the thinkauto top hats, stripped the threads off one when it touched the block before sealed. Had to machine 3mm off the end to get it to seat.
Thank to everyone for your help, every job on this car seems to be a pain so far but it’s getting there.
