Don’t you have to go and order a new clutch!!

B&C are taking the car on Wednesday for a few days ‘to experiment with’. I’ll let you know how I get on…

I bloody hope not, I now have a shiny new one.

Driveshafts, well that is another story…

Met a Lotus Technical representative today at my local dealer. I asked about the new exhaust and was told that they are expected in at the end of this month. He was well aware customer feedback on the extended delivery times. FYI, They will have a single chromed oval outlet as per the standard tailpipe. Still not clear whether it’s stage 1 or 2, however the one they tested on a company car ‘sounded very good’

Getting mine fitted next week at Nick Whales, just rang today to confirm that it’s there.

I’ll post a few photos next week…

And a comparison on the sound would be great. Louder than the Stage 2? Quieter? I have to know!

mine currently w/ B&C awaiting fitment this week… I’ll post a sound file once i have it back (search my posts for sound file on previous stage 2)

Anyone got an update…very intrigued

I’m sure you will all enjoy this .

I went to a well known dealer in Bromsgrove to get mine fitted last Friday, car was up on the lift and the diffuser was off. Out came the box containing the new exhaust and I was waiting to see what it looked like. It looked just like the standard exhaust, in fact it was another standard exhaust . Apparently a cock up at Lotus had meant normal exhausts were shipped as the new ‘S’ sports exhaust, exact numbers not known.

The aforementioned dealer was very apologetic but nothing they could do about it, I’ll let you know more when I eventually get one fitted.

You can all stop laughing now .

Cheers,

Rich

Crikey!

At least they spotted it before, not after they’d fitted it!!

Customer: ‘Sounds the same as before Mr Lotus Dealer!’

Mr Lotus Dealer: ‘Nah, TADTS it’ll get noisier!’

Customer: ‘Bo@@ocks will it!’.

Actually, I spoke to Bell & Colvill last week. And they told me that it’s on backorder (65+) and not counting worldwide. So unless you’ve longed ordered one and expect delivery soon, along with all the cock-ups in place.

Don’t expect to see or buy one anytime soon. This is true classic Lotus f-up at it’s very best.

I just got tired of the Lotus bull. Bought the 2bular for the S today. Lotus is too lame!!!

update I got last week from the factory was that the shipment that had arrived were fitted with the wrong “clip” for want of a better word and they (Janspeed) were having to manufacture a new one - the guy confirmed the 65 on backorder and seemed pretty optomistic they would be ready soon…we’ll see

Thanks for the update.

I can see the frustration owners who want to upgrade are having and it simply makes sending the $$$ elsewhere with their proven applications.

Surprised that Lotus is still using Janspeed when it’s clear their production standards isn’t exactly cutting edge. Oh well, then again it could be a well negotiated trade deal already in place.

Let’s hope they get their act together soon, and the specifications and pictures start to filter through.

its a joke that the S was ever released with the standard exhaust. Sound wise it is simply pathetic.

Do they not offer the stage 1 exh to S owners? After all it was std on the 240R and cup cars

ive just taken delivery of my new exige s with a stage 2 fitted by lotus, tho im told (& shown) they’ve cut the undertray to make it fit and on top of that its not the exhaust for the s but the 111r and will probably melt!!!

my s came with a stage2 from a NA, complete with undertray cut. Within 1000 miles the welds had bust - that’s when they discovered the exhaust wasn’t supported!!!

Why do I have a feeling that someone or which engineer @ Lotus [censored] up on proper engineering what works and what doesn’t work. It’s pathetic to be reading of all the owners problems when these things shouldn’t happen in the first place. After all, this isn’t a base model car.
