Due to the continued issues with my MIL light since the exhaust and car have been getting less and less standard and also to get a better understanding of whats going on with the engine I’ve decided to take the plunge and get an OBD2 reading tool.
This one sounds good;
I was wondering if anyone had actually used one and if it does what it says on the tin
Not sure how much help this is (and Podger will doubtless tell me if it’s none at all, lol!)…
A while ago I bought a cheap OBD reader (ebay, search for U380) as I had a frequent issue with the emissions light on a car of mine (Renault Clio, actually, but still…).
This was under 20 and worked fine. Links with VPW, KWP2000, PWM & ISO9141 protocols, reads all error codes and erases them.
I have had the OBDkey bluetooth unit for about 4 years.
Works with my phone (treo) and laptop. Very useful on any obdc vehicles.
If you can get the same functionality from an android/apple app then that would be a lot cheaper but that option wasn’t available when I bought the OBDkey.
