My guess would be it is slightly faster as he only does it just before he has to shift DOWN again. He will probably loose some second shifting up and than down twice. The Viper has a low rpm range but torque al over the place. The rough rpm limiter wouldn’t be nice on the rear wheel grip.
Nice lap though and nice lines. Despite the behavior of the car. What an understeering peace of c&*p. Compare it to a better set-up vehicle here… The driver is more calm in his behavior and uses less steering wheel angle.
