PS Wonder at what speed the Peugeot was reversing?
Blimey exact copycat accident of Rich E’s including Pug
Impressive Lotus resilience on display
If I was that driver I’d of gone straight out and bought lottery ticket

I was just thinking the same thing. perhaps I need to recommend to our product guys a built in exige sensor on the rear bumpers
TBH guys, I don’t know if the Pug was reversing, but I suspect not Only made the comment to hopefully put a smile on the Exige owner’s face, if he sees this thread
Thanks Pesky, it did make me smile…although I feel really down about it now it’s sinking in. Do I want a repair? Is it gonna be the same car again? Do I wish for a write off and get another?
Obviously really thankful to have walked away without a scratch, as well as the fact no one else was injured. As posted on Norlog this is briefly what happened:
“…When I finally came home and looked at my 2 month old boy and thought I shouldn’t really be here under the circumstances, but it seems I have a 2nd chance at life.
Sounds melodramatic but trust me, as as has already been said, I shit myself when the car was sat above me, for a moment it felt it was going to crumble on top of me. We’ve all seen movies of submersibles going too deep and the glass cracking with pressure, that was the momentary feeling I got.
The car has been taken to Chris Neils Lotus and hopefully won’t be written off, as was the 1st call by the insurance company, it will be assessed and they’ll take it from there.
I really didn’t ever think I was going to be involved in a Lotus crash…but having said that it was always at the back of my mind that maybe one day someone was gonna go into me…it just so happened it was the other way round.
Luckily it was slow moving traffic and I was doing around 10mph…I didn’t see his brake lights come on so thought he was still moving, a momentary loss of concentration is all it took…BANG!!! I can’t remember if I slammed the brake pedal or jammed the accelerator due to the impact…next thing hes over the top of me.
An ambulance was passing and stopped at the point of impact. The driver door wouldn’t open so they got me out of the passenger side.
Other than shock and shivering with cold I was fine, no cuts or bruises or broken bones…a bit sore from the lower back and neck this morning but nothing severe. I was wearing the Scrotch 4 point harness.”
Sorry to hear what happened blackstone but i guess the main thing is that your ok and unhurt. Insurance can sort out the car but your health is the main priority. Dicko
sorry to hear about it all mate, glad you are ok tho thats the main point.
Oh man, nightmare! But as has been said, glad to hear you are ok. Hope everything gets resolved ok for you.
Yep sorry for maybe being a little glib - brilliant that no one hurt. Car will repair
Glad to hear that you are alright. I think its pretty scary that we have the potential to just drive under another car like that at such slow speed. I’d always assumed it would need to be a bigger impact.
Best of luck with getting it sorted, and hope you have it back soon.
Yep again here sorry dude very glad you’re ok.
No need to apologise guys…I know its all banter and most of the people on here are decent.
My mate was pissing himself, after he found out I was okay…we generally laugh at each other over anything and everything…he did apologise though about an hour later via text, twice, after probably reviewing the gravity of the situation.
I initially sent him one of the pics to his phone after the accident, he immediately rang back and said that that was the best photoshop editing he’d seen me produce!!!
It took a while to convince him I’d wrapped up the car.

Thanks Evo…I think what everyone has missed in my description is the fact that at the point of impact my foot may have slipped onto the accelerator or was already on it, and due to the impact I pressed it further causing me to force myself further under the car and eventually lifting it over me.
I must have caught it at the right angle for it to be lifted over so easily. I know it definitely wasn’t faster than 15mph, as traffic was crawling due to wet weather and the Man.City game. I just didn’t notice he had come to a halt in front of me…must have been all of 2secs I had a lapse of concentration.
Typical City supporter, just like the management, in a rush to get there!!!
Ask your Sheik for a contribution
If I had known you were a City supporter…
Ah see thats where you’re all wrong and reading into things…I was on my way home driving past the ground!!!
I’m a UTD fan…don’t tell me thats even worse!!!
