Nostalgia

December 2002 at Lake Windermere with RussT & JohnO in their new aluminium S1s

April 2010 with SJW at the historic pit complex at Reims

You missing it mate?

Of course, Jonny! It was a real privilege to own one for 14 years from new, & it was also the catalyst for me making so many likeminded good friends. Chuck in the fun of over 100 trackdays… :sunglasses:

Many of the roads over here would be great to drive in an Exige…except for the constant danger from so many reckless/risktaking drivers. Thailand has the world’s 2nd highest annual road accident death count apparently. Holiday times are the worst, & in the first 6 days of the recent festive season some 426* people died in over 3500 accidents - totally shocking. You won’t be surprised to hear that we keep our ventures onto the road to a minimum during holiday periods. Drink driving, speeding & tailgating are common traits on urban roads, so you have to always expect the unexpected! 4pm to 8pm is probably the most dangerous time - so many scooters without working lights wobbling about, not to mention the favoured pickup trucks being driven aggressively! However, once out of the towns/built up areas so many of the highways/smaller roads are great to drive, especially up here in the North which can be likened to the Lake District/Highlands for scenery etc.

Have fun in your wonderful motas!

  • Total now 478 in 7 days including 25 in a single incident between a minibus (14 dead) & a pickup truck (11 died) on a busy dual carriage highway - huge fireball burning LPG.

:astonished: Would you like it back Rob???

You want to get shut of it Clive?

Bloody hell sounds like a Javelin track day  Seriously though that is properly messed up and so bloody tragic.

I’m looking forward to some drives out in the Exige, can’t wait to get it finished. Not sure I can get all the way over to Thailand, be nice though.

Some more nostalgia. There’s still some of us still around from the exiges.com trackday at Croft in 2005 :astonished: :open_mouth:

Not while I can still get out of it. Mate.
But everyman has his price.

Have fun and a curry for me.
Cheers

Remember this trip Rob? :nerd: :lolno:

Must visit Riem in mine.

I heard, when the Exige was launched, no one really wanted them, is this really true?

Certainly do, Clive :sunglasses:

In particular I recall our visit to this fantastic place The Automobile Museum and Old Trades of Lohéac %

Caught this wonderful overtaking manoeuvre on the dashcam today at about 2.30pm. Certainly not untypical, & you’ve got to bear in mind there are usually slow moving agricultural vehicles/mopeds/scooters travelling in the nearside lanes. Trouble is, there doesn’t seem much effort to cut down on this sort of driving - gets even more hairy on the mountain roads where solid double lines are often ignored…even on blind bends!

Wow

You should try the A134. Sudbury to Bury St E road…nothing over 35 MPH. All the way …we have driverless cars now…most of the above do not appear to have any driver…just 2 hands clinging on to the wheel and maybe a little grey head peering below the rim of the wheel. “Hold tight Min We are doing 5 miles an hour”. Jesus . And its only going to get worse… :imp: :smiling_imp:
