North West Owners Meet

excellent

Right, looks a bit cloudy in Windermere but head for Keswick and A66 and it’s clearer!
So I’m ready for the off . . .all being well.C’mon Pesky, c’mon Jabbs.
Car started first time in garage tonight. Warmed through. Tyre pressures checked.
Hot to trot. Can’t think why I’m so determined to make this one.

Looks like I wont make this one now. Cant get away from Newcastle until around 11 so you guys will probably have gone by the time I get over there…

Weather looks good here…have a good one.

Great to meet up today, lads. Well-chosen spot, too. Shame we were too busy talking to actually drive anywhere.
It was good to put names to faces from Exiges, though.
Thanks everyone for turning up(and Tim,for setting the ball rolling).
To those who weren’t there, you missed a moment of “exigeness” – we enjoyed cloudless skies and sunshine while everyone else was shrouded in fog.
You should have been there!

Fingers or toes?

A good day out, sunny if a little chilly.
Finally put faces to some names on here.
4 x S1, 4 x S2 is good, we must do it again sometime.

Lots of tyre kicking, not enough driving !
From here Nik and I drove over to Hawes, a little slippy at times me thinks.
After a break I returned via Ribblehead, and must have encountered more salt than there is on Blackpool beach

Fingers or toes?

Nails certainly, as that is what’s holding the wood in place

Sorry pics involved a head-wrenching twist of the neck. I hadn’t worked out how to rotate them so pressed on regardless . . .
And now, confined to the bedroom by Mrs T . . .

I will be applying emulsion!

I’m so pleased this happened. After 1336 views and 74 replies it would have been a shame if it had come to nought!

Presumeably you were high enough to be above the mist…

five miles back in Kendal it was misty all day.

Yup, 2 mins heading west & visibility was less than 100mtrs

Couple of inches of snow over Shap on my way home. Fortunately not on the road surface though
Steve

The noise from your quicksilver might have caused an avalanche.

I am sure it was even louder by the time I got home and I had to do no less than 90 mph on the M6 to stop my ears from bleeding. HHC will be fitting the new one in the next week though which should be good for my hearing and be more track friendly.

It was good to meet you all, even if i’m still not too sure who was who and who post as what…

The drive back across to Hawes was great, a steady pace as the conditions weren’t great, but the road was brilliant, i’ll be back up there when the sun’s out.

Really enjoyed myself Saturday, great to meet everybody and have a chat, tyre kick etc, I suspect one or two may have been a bit disapointed that a run did not ensue but as Tim mentioned earlier, literaly as I drove over the first hill (300m’ish) towards Windermere it was pea soup and no fun at all.

I suspect someone up there looking down on us is an Exige fan as it appears the Watermill was bathed in the only good weather in the Lakes (or Lancashire for that matter)in fact when I passed by the Watermill about half an hour later on my way home the mist had descended…

So I think a big pat on the back for everyone who made the effort and no shame for those that didn’t as I’m sure I was not the only one who looked out the window early Saturday morning and had a few misgivings.

How was the Colly Wobbles Thommo

ps if Russ or Pesky read this was that Russ’s orange gaylordy I just passed on the M60? If so its desperatley in need of a wash

Collie Wobbles went down a treat but I suspect it’s better supped from a straight glass while propping up the bar of the Watermill.
Will get out on my bike when the weather improves!
