Noise testing

So I’m thinking of a Donington trackday and buy a noise meter from Maplin.
I place the thing half a meter away from the tailpipe and measure …
On bloody tickover I’m reading 101 db and at 6000 rpm 103 db …
The limit at Donington is 100 db at 3/4 revs …

Any thoughts ?

The 100cells are damned noisy - they perform like a de-cat and unfortunately, they sound like one too.
