no forced induction in the elise trophy

looks like my racing in the elise trophy will come to a quick end

Why?

Convert to class A - you will spend far less money, get better racing, finish more races and, as a free bonus, your driving will improve as you struggle with momentum racing.
Unless you were born a Racin God like me.

Yeah here you were 20th at the weekend Russ!! lol

Is that true??.. no forced induction… or just speculation ATM?

True (unless it’s a 211) - Class C is finito.

What on earth is their motivation behind that? I’m confussed, that was great to see the class C cars out there…

Yup had too much power and could not cope!

Need a grid of at least 20 non A Class cars to make it viable (there are approaching 20 A Class reserves in the wings, itching to have a go). Next year will see a full grid of A Class in one race, & probably a 2nd race comprising a controlled “Modified Class” with 211 power/weight being the benchmark. The details are not finalised, but Class C will be dead.

It would cost a fair amount converting to a class A car as well as wasting the money already spent on the conversion so I wouldn’t even consider it.

Come and race in the Special Gts at Castle Combe. It would be great to have some more class C cars battling it out, also get to mix with radicals etc. Or do the LMA series.

It doesn’t cost any more in my experience to run a class C car (apart from fuel) and I finish nearly every race bar the odd mishap. Must admit though that class A in the LOT series does look like great fun.

cheers Mark

Agreed I think quite a few (Russ/Sean/Evosal) will be doing both the Class A LOT, & also LMA next year - should be a busy year

im not going to take my Audi engine out and i dont want to sell the car, theres no point in having two lotus’s for racing (cant afford that). Where can i find out more info on that castle combe race and the lma? My brother was going to do the elise trophy next year with his Audi Elise to so i need to find another race series. Is that mid engined sports cars race still going or has that long gone? Whats the castle combe thing like then mark?

Chris,

have you actually read the email you got?

which email you talking about. i got one yesterday that says no forced induction is allowed unless it left the factory that way.

i just read an email i had on elise trophy but it says i can race on a round by round basis and so can my brother. i dont understand what i can do because it says no forced induction but i can enter on a round by round basis ? how long will that last for until im not aloud to enter at all

Its pretty simple really the first time you win you get banned

Chris, That’s what the original email said if you read it properly.

If you have any further questions ask on the LoTRDC forums, that’s what they are there for as I’m not getting into a debate on here.
