Still struggling to make of SD card work in Audi S4.It’s Bang and Olufsen speakers but the unit is Audi Phoenix or somesuch.
Bought correct card online as recommended by others who struggled to make it work.
Loaded lots of songs but not recognised ( card showing empty). Took advice from Audi garage, loaded songs singly but still not a peep from the system.
Anyone else suffer this A4 ball-ache? Jonnyfox?
Are you using one of the 2 SD slots behind the sat nav screen steve?
How old is the A4, my old A3 one would never work with the recommended max of 4GB so I settled with 2GB cards that worked fine, later systems like my Q3 can use 32GB cards but I have not tried any that large yet myself
You went with an S4 in the end eh? I’m still tempted by a B7 RS4 now that they’re getting older and less of a target for undesirable types…
Car is 58reg Avant with Audi Syphony system. So, Steve, no exotic Sat-nav. Just one SD slot to lower left of main control button. I think I tried a smaller capacity card without success, too. You’d really think that Audi would be able to sort it but their advice was to record tracks singly and , as I said, that didn’t work.
Yes,Ben, sense and reality prevailed. It’s surprisingly rapid for such a big car. Love belting belting past people in such a staid-looking barge.
Yay nice Steve, what colour, post up a pick buddy. I’ve never used it and don’t have Sat Nav either however I did get Vag-Tec out to fit cruise, bluetooth and iPod. I had a weird array of extra’s but not the important ones.
I’d call it titanium. It’s S-Line, not an S but a nice car nonetheless.
Given the age of the car it will be the same as mine, the has to be SD not SDHC you should be able to use 4GB but I never found one I could buy so you are stuck with 2GB, also format it in a PC not MAC

Audi are pretty crap with compatibility, when Christine got her TT in 2012 the dealer said her ipod touch which was 2 years old wasn’t compatible with it.
Had a similar problem with sd card slot behind the blaupunkt in my exige.
Found a 1gb card, and its fine now.
Are you able to format disk on the unit in the car ?
