Thanks guys!
Just a quick edit to say I think the driving standards were great on the day which helped make it. Always helps having a club organised day like that.

Just to add my thanks to Boothy for organising the day, & not forgetting Tim for showing off his fingerless driving gloves
My shortest trackday mileage ever! Managed the grand total of 37 miles, of which 6 were in the morning!
Made a complete mess of braking on a damp circuit at “Bookatrack” & went straight on to the sopping wet grass! Managed to get some steering lock on, & just glanced the tyre wall. First damage sustained in 10 years of track driving - broken nylon bolt used to attach the Edwards splitter to the car. Sorted that with gaffa tape (thanks DaveP), then discovered a Llambda bung had threaded itself leaving a big hole in the exhaust mainfold. Sourced/collected/fitted a new Llambda sensor, which enabled me to get out again in late afternoon. Big thanks to Sean, Ade, Simon, & Neil for your help/loan of tools etc
As posted on another thread - some photos “stitched together” of my lucky escape:

Just adding my thanks to you Boothy for organising such a great day. Glad to hear that you’re thinking of doing it all over again (even with all the stress and heartache it brings).
Wet conditions were a bit of a challenge but certainly learned from the experience.
Great company as always.

Concrete proof that driver training pays off - an extra 50bhp, chargecooler, lots of carbon would not have made any difference !!!
Chris, yep you don’t need mods to go quicker - the wet grass certainly aided acceleration
PS Hope yesterday went okay for you/missus.
PPS Did you wear your white suit so they’d think you were a Consultant
Thanks Rob. 1st hurdle over with. Looking more positive. Another investigative op next week and fingers crossed we will out of the woods.
Really missed the day yesterday but was glad it was with her through it.
Fancy trying to keep up with the S2’s …
Rob - glad to hear nothing really damaged & a big up to you for posting the clip
Didn’t have chance to view vid until now. Great car control. Thank goodness you got away with it!
Thanks Steve, but it was 100% in the lap of the gods - all I could do was take my foot off the brake & get full lock on, whilst thinking I would shortly see & hear the sound of flayling fibre glass! Je suis un grand tosser extraordinaire, for even getting into that situation.
I’m sur most of us had the odd moment here and there, I think the poor marshall at the top of rocket was wondering what I was doing half the morning trying to find the right braking point, as I sailed past him for the 3rd or 4th time. Well my instructor always told me to use all of the circuit

But his kettle cost more than the gloves!!!
But the kettle cost less than the toaster…
or the coffee maker…
The coffee maker does sound cool though.
God are we really discussing kitchen appliances here now?
At least I had a whole field to myself!
