Newbie - thinking of going from S1 'liz > S2 ExigS

Hi All

First post so please be gentle whilst I settle in!

I’ve previously owned a S1 Elise (std, 118hp) and swapped it for an S2000.

S2000 now gone and garage empty - missing my Lotus very very much - S2000 was not the car I was expecting.

So - I’m contemplating the idea of buying a Exige S circa �25k (with a view to getting it to sincalire straight after purchase for Gotham remap/injectors).

Now my S1 had 56k on when I bought it and I did about 8k in it - it had s2 billys on but nothing done to the engine.

Apart from the obvious ‘roof’ thing, what will the major differences be from what I had before to what I am thinking of?

Obviously more go, but rigidity / cornering ability / road noise / drivability etc?

One major thing is playing on my mind too - in Leicestershire we have a decent monthly car get together in a place called Ashby Folville (every 2nd Tuesday) and I went this month to see what Loti were there.

Is it wrong that I totally blanked an S2 Elise 111S (electric blue/black wheels) whilst I walked towards a pair of Exiges - a N/A Honda S1 (orange) and a Black S2 S.

I think it’s the wing on the back that screems ‘LOOK AT ME’ but I was there with a friend and his view was ‘why would you buy an elise when you could have an exige?’ - they are a real looker!

I’m of no use but to say “Welcome matey”…BUT I know how everything else pales once you get your mind set on something…especially a car.

Remember the elise is faster :O)

I went from a standard S1 elise to an n/a s2 exige and then to the exige S.I prefered the looks and feel of the exige straight away and the extra power of the ‘S’ is very nice :slight_smile:.

I found my 05 n/a exige had much better build quality than the elise and my S even better than that,its almost like a real car!.youl still develope the odd rattle or squeek but the later S2’s just feel much better on the road to me.
