Newbie just arrived

Hi All

Had my Exige S from new in April 08, replacing an Elise S.

It is basically a weekend/track tool and I love it. By the end of this year it will have done Spa, LeMans Bugatti, Abbeville, Bedford, and Brands. I also did some driver training back in April at Prodrive and my instructor was Chris Hodgetts the double BTCC champion. He loved my car and I couldn’t get him out of it. He does the driver experience days at Silverstone in the Exiges so really knows them inside out.

On Boothy’s advice and post elsewhere it went up to CNs and had a whole of host of work on it which has resulted in about 275-280BHP.

Anyway just thought I’d say Hi

Welcome to the Chris Neils club

Welcome

Hi!!

Welcome, I am sure you’ll like it here!

Does this forum not email you when new replies are added?

Only for pm’s and threads you add to your ‘watch’ list…I think. Turning it on is in ‘My Stuff’ and then ‘Edit Preferences’.

How can I get 280bhp? and whats CNs?

Oh and welcome from a fellow n00b haha :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello

CN = Chris Neils, they do a 260Cup conversion for the Exige S good value etc. gives about 260hp
Then there is Sinclaires conversions and anything is possible with enough cash, but 300hp is really the limit on Standard engines

As he said

Mine also has the forge Motorsport inter cooler and a 2bular exhaust

Yep, the std car gives around 265bhp with the CN’s upgrade and with the Forge IC fitted you can stick another 10hp on top

So they can make my standard 218bhp exige s have 260bhp? how much would that cost just as a rough estimate? it surely can’t be cheap.

Hey there jonnyfox I finally got accepted haha :stuck_out_tongue:

I paid about 2.5k in the end I think. I would have bought a cup of pp car when I bought mine but we bought 3 new cars at the same time and it was getting hard to justify!

I think the 255 pack is 1.5k at CNs, I just got a bit carried away!

Ouch! and then presumably your insurance goes up too cos its modified, the promise of 255bhp is nice but I really dont want to turn it into a money pit which I think it kind of is already with the tyre situation r888’s really dont last very long :stuck_out_tongue:

Out of curiosity what do they do to it in terms of parts? is there a lot of new stuff or more tuning and fettling?

My insurance company only load premium by 10% whatever I do

New ecu, new injectors, new fuel pump etc

Sounds expensive on the whole, I dont think the gearbox is up to handling 300bhp haha, for me Silverstone Stowe was fine but at Oulton I had a few moments when 3rd wouldnt go in and I ended up in 5th tbh even now the changes dont feel as smooth as they did before Oulton I think that day really took a lot out of it :S

Hey Jay…300bhp is indeed a problem for the standard gearbox. Welcome on mate :sunglasses:

I hope the gearbox upgrade has cured it now  roll on spa
