Firstly i better introduce myself and say thanks for such a great site - i’ve spent hours on here trawling through the endless information.
I have always wanted an exige and i became lucky enough to come across a grand specimin a few months ago. I bought an 04 black Exige, with the perfomance pack and stage 2 exhaust. 20k miles, 18k. After owning a Vx220 Turbo and a caterham superlight I was far from disappointed - what a fantastic car!
I have answered most of my questions by looking through the site, i do however have a few others:
Is there a known problem with the gear linkages, mine strugles to go into 2nd and third first time when changing down unless you match the revs pretty precisely.
I’ve got my first trackday in her next month at Brands. The limit is 105db. She has a stage 2 exhaust and a viper induction kit - anybody got this combination and know how safe i’ll be with noise?
The first thing i noticed on teh car was the brake travel, which is massive - is this fixed when i realign the pedals for heel and toe?
Ive hit the rev limiter a few times at below the second cam. Is there a varaible rev limiter dependant on how warm the engine is?

known issues, may be as simple as H-plate needing alignment

stage 2 is known to be too loud for some tracks

yes and varying degrees of success

yes, wont go onto second cam until the temperature is displayed (about 73c)
I have an 05 N/A Exige with induction kit and stage 2 exhaust, and like you i was concerned about falling foul of the db checks especially after reading how stage 2 kits were too loud. However i have been to Motosportvision track days at Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Bedford Autodrome and passed with no problem, although at Bedford i was near the limit so i was initially a little cautious when passing the drive by noise meters dotted around the circuit, but as the day progressed i was using full throttle past them with no problems. Weather conditions do play a part in db checks so this is a factor to be considered. If you contact Motorsportvision 0870 850 5014 you can arrange a db check at one of their venues for free. I have always found them very friendly and helpful.
Don’t even consider trying to get the car on the second cam until it has sufficiently warmed up, when the temp first shows up at 72deg remember thats water temp and oil takes longer still to warm up.
