New Tyres needed - advice please :)

Hi

I am needing rear tyres for my S2 Type 72.
Yoko A048 225/45/R17 90W

any advice? Ebay or a supplier on line anyone has used??
or do I use my Lotus dealer?? pricey I expect,… but then don’t fancy some chav quick fit fitter doing it.

also after checking on line & Ebay there seem to be different compounds as well, so a bit confused…

Not overly sure about AO48s as its been years since I swapped to 888s but isn’t the compound Lotus fit LTS? You could try our very own Dave a Seriously Lotus http://www.seriouslylotus.com/wheels-and-tyres/tyres/a048-233

I am a complete Toyo R1R convert, since my car is mainly used for touring, one or two track days a year, and other journeys but excluding commuting.
All round much better tyre than 048 for me.
If that means passing a pair of fronts on to someone else, then I’d do that.

Medium compound (GG) Toyo 888s :thumbup:
Got fed up trying to get my front AO48s to balance :unamused:

I plan on sticking to the Toyo this time, as much as the idea of having another excuse why I am so slow, I just can’t be bother to learn new tyres…
