New seats for an Exige

Guys,

Has anyone got practical experience of replacing their seats in a series 2 Exige? I’m 6ft 1in tall and 11 stone and want more lateral support and better lumbar support.

I’m thinking of Sparco Revs or (probably the easier way out but far more expensive) Reverie carbons.

Worth looking at the MOG racing seats lots of S1s have them and cheaper too

Blimey, the MOG shell looks superb and they can also supply proper mounts and runners.

Cheers jamie,

Ek

I have to say i tried a MOG seat at Moto Concept and in its un-upholstered state it is the most comfortable seat i have ever tried. There were a few of us together and we all found it astounding how comfy a bare carbon shell could be.

Would the Sparco Evo be too big for the Exige?

I used to run these in my prep’d CRX and they were so good

I read somewhere that the Sparco Rev seat (not the Evo) is the narrowest seat in the Sparco range so it might have been a candidate for fitting into the Exige.

The problem (as always with the big manufacturers) is that they don’t have an off-the-shelf bracket/runner solution for Lotus, so its down to fabrication or using fixed side mounts attached directly to the floor. However, I don’t really want to start drilling through my Exige’s floor (its only 4 months old!!) so I think I’ll follow up on the MOG seats. They look superb and Fluke Motorsport are selling them for around 435.

Thanks for your comments and feedback.

You might get one in but definitely not two. The problem is not the mounting to the floor but the width. The seats will overlap.

You might be right, tbh. They were very wide in my CRX.

They were fantastic seats though, very very nice to be and the support was phenominal
