New S1 owner - advice required

Could someone advise on the following for me:

what did the factory 190 upgrade consist of.
If I was to upgrade the brakes for sprint, hills what is the best disks/pads combination and value for money.
What benefits would I get from an Emerald ECU.

Try a search, there’s lot of info on all of those things. But basically:

  • 190 = ECU & different pulley (and potentially something else I forget. Options include exhaust & breather kit)
  • Best brake kit is Lotus’ own, not cheap though. Pagid RS14s are widerly considered to be the best (or equal best), they’re not cheap either but last well. Any disk set that increases the fronts to 295mm is an advantage (try and avoid thinner disks though, as Eliseparts have been).
  • Emerald ECU will let you play with the timing and generally eck out a bit more power.

I wouldn’t bother upgrading the brakes much for sprint/hills, just change pads and fluid. You’ll not get big brakes hot enough in UK sprints/hills. Upgrade the suspension instead.

If you track it, upgrade brakes obv.

I was talking to a K series specialist the other day who said that the factory 190’s generally got no-where near this power output.

Was this the case.?
