New Prototype upgraded Clutch Bracket

But… is it anodized?

is it a simple bolt off the old part and replace with this one?

and while you are at it, don’t forget to answer this one also

yes its a direct replacement for the clutch support bracket

is this too expensive at 45?

Yes.

Nothing personal, but I was thinking earlier if I should get one, and given that I may switch to a Honda at some point, even with the slight improvement in clutch feel I have currently decided against it. Don’t think there is enough value from it at 45.

depends if its anodized or not!!!

it doesn’t need to be anodised, because its marine aluminium

Ian

I’ll see what I can do
what do you think is a fair price and how much would you pay?

Something closer to Geary’s support bracket.

Ian

it would cost me money to sell them at that price

Sounds a good deal then

Ball back in your court then, see what you can come up with.

Ian

Is the EliseParts one made by aluminium, or by welded steel plates? I cant really see how Maddogs could go any lower. It seems like a nice piece of engineering which requires at least two hours of labour to be done. Maddog, correct me if I am wrong.

nope, you are 100% correct

Thumbsup to MADDOG for designing new bits for our cars !

Good work that man

I’d like to say I designed it but unfortunately not
a very keen lotus owner that is a mechanical engineer designed it for me

Thanks

I like the design and although I thought it was expensive, was not put off by it.
But I’m confused, you say it’s a direct replacement, but from the shape it looks like the same as the Eliseparts one (only better).
That would mean that it’s still an add-on to the existing bracket.

Can you check this personally? a stock bracket and this and see if one would replace the other?

fwiw, the Eliseparts one isn’t that heavy (they’re not that big!) and all the ones I’ve fitted have lined up just fine with the bolts

That’s good to know, thank you.

Did it include A/c cars (not that I actually think there’s a difference over that side of the engine bay)?

Ian

I have the elise parts bracket on my car (and it used to have A/C) the bracket fitted fine. Like you say Ian, there aren’t any AC bits in the clutch slave cylinder bracket region, so you will be OK. Is also a dead easy fit.

I do like the look of Maddogs bracket though!!! The elise parts one does look a bit agricultural, but I have to sy it does do the job!!
