New M4 speedtraps

Old topic, new information (allegedly). E-mail from a mate:

“New electronic signs on the M4. The transport minister switched them on on Tuesday. Now the bad news, they are rigged with the SPECS speed cameras…The whole section of the M4 between Theale (J12) and Membury Services (between 14 and 15) is wired, both ways. It is believed that the system is set to trigger a ticket at 78 mph.”

Has anyone actually seen these cameras as a mate of mine went down to Newbury a couple of nights ago, having heard this rumour, and didn’t see anything? Would be great to know if there is any truth it this.

Dont know about them but there are specs cameras as you go over the severn bridge (2nd severn crossing).

See ABD

Phew! And sorry for wasting your time.

Never a waste of time, Ian…

For those who are interested, this is what the MS4 signs actually look like… MS4 Link

This Thames Valley Police link confirms that there are no speed cameras in them - a bit more official than the ABD, I s’pose
