Might it be they don’t have large development projects on the go and are tweaking at the edges?

There is quite a few aftermarket options now for more power on the Exige. Someone has already got 265 out of the Exige S with some ECU tweaking, I’d expect that someone in Lotus got bored one day and optimised the map for the cup 255.
The more they crank up the numbers the less appealing the Exige GT3 becomes.
